Curious but elusive, the grey wolf is a highly intelligent and social species that has endured as a symbol of strength and resilience in the wild. Today, many look upon this canine with a sense of reverence for its keen senses and instinct as it moves swiftly and silently across aterritory that may encompass hundreds of square kilometres, depending on the abundance of prey.

Continue or start your beautiful wildlife icon collection! Your coin has no GST/HST!
Design:
Designed by Canadian artist Claude Thivierge, your coin fuses two different art styles-low poly art and a more true-to-life style-for a contemporary take on a classic wilderness icon. On this misty, moonlit night, Canis lupus moves swiftly and silently down a rocky outcrop in Canada's boreal forest. Boldcolour over the engraved relief brings the landscape to life through a wealth of textural details that add a realistic touch to this multi-layered design. The coin's silver surface is visible within the two engraved wolves, which are comprised of multiple polygon shapes that define the low poly art style. In spite of the straight lines and pointed edges, each shape is carefully positioned to convey thenatural curves of the grey wolf's familiar outline, while various finishing techniques mimic the effect of light and shadows. One wolf's instinctive leap suddenly creates the illusion of movement, transformation and the "shattering" of boundaries-those of its geometric form, and the reverse image itself-as its depiction artfully transitions from abstract to realism. The word "CANADA",the face value "20 DOLLARS" andthe year "2018" are engraved along the rim that frames much of the reverse image. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Did you knowÉ
Despite the "grey" in itsname, a grey wolf's coat is not necessarily a uniform colour. Its fur may vary depending on where it lives, and may include a mix of black, whiteand varying shades of grey or brown.
While a wolf may run at an average speed ofup to 16 kilometres per hour, it can reach a top speed of up to 70 kilometres per hour during the hunt as it closes in on its prey!
A wolf pack may consist of up to 12 members who workclosely together-especially when pursuingmuch larger prey.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0556/2872/6347/files/false_a0b86a40-0522-4c67-b685-f01df65874a5.jpg?v=1717053626
https://jandmcoins.com/products/canada-silver-2018-d20-grey-wolves-geometric-fauna-pf-1_023oz_-_9999-bc1828
