Design
Designed by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc, your coin presents a three-quarter profile portrait of a wolf by a lake bordering a Canadian forest. Bearing a relaxed wolfish grin, its striking light-coloured eyes hold both mystery and wisdom. The wolf's thick fur seems to rise from the image, rendered in exceptional detail through fine engraving. In the background, we see the placid waters of a large lake, and a series of tall evergreens that rise from the shoreline. Thereverse is framed with a border engraved with the word "CANADA," the date "2013," the face value of "5 DOLLARS" and a stylized wolf paw-print.
