This breathtaking work of art recounts one of the most well known legends of the Pacific Northwest-how Raven brought light to the world. It's a story that has been told over thousands of years and while regional variations do exist, this exceptional masterpiece captures the climactic moment when Raven is in possession of the light. The Chief of the Heavens keeps the daylight ball in a box. The Raven tricks him, takes the luminous ball, and flies skyward. The ball breaks apart, creating the moon, the stars, and the sun. No other metal captures the essence of light like gold, and this spectacular gold coin has been selectively coloured to create dramatic contrast between Raven's black plumage and the shining ball.
A must-have for dedicated art and coin collectors; storytellers; anyone with a passion for the rich cultural heritage of the Pacific Northwest.
