About the Design:
The reverse design by Three Degrees Creative Group is both visually compelling and richly symbolic, with a thoughtful melding of traditional and contemporary design elements. In the background, a beautifully engraved lotus pattern fills the reverse in a modern take on the blooms that traditionally symbolize purity of the heart and mind. A majestic, mid-relief dragon is brought to life through intricate engraving that recreatesit in extraordinary detail; its presence also carries a strong meaning, as the dragon is a time-honoured symbol of power, strength and good luck in Asianmythology. Above it, a traditional circular motif bears a Swarovski ¨ crystal embellishment that represents amethyst, the birthstone for February, which is said to bring sincerity and peace to those born in the month.
Did you knowÃ
During the Middle Ages, the amethyst was used to adorn royal regalia in England.
Amethyst is purple quartz, which can be found around the world; European royalty traditionally sought out Russian amethyst but today, Brazil is the primary source for the stone.
February's gemstone, the amethyst, is the most precious form of quartz. Its colour ranges from pale lilac to a beautiful deep purple that has captivated so many throughout history. The amethystbrings sincerity, courage and peace of mind to those born in this month, while legend holds that it also represents dignity and piety.
