Description

During this period, five varieties of the portrait of the Queen was used, differing in minor changes of facial features. Two reverse varieties were used. The basic design was a crossed boughs of maple, tied at the bottom by a ribbon separated at the top by the crown of St. Edward. The following dates are weakly struck on the reverse (obverse): 1885, 1887, 1889.
